Purchasing & Logistics Apprentice

This is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful engineering company, which will provide structure and guidance for a young apprentice. Full training will be given. To include college studies as well in the relevant discipline.
Duties:
Support the Purchasing and Logistics team in delivering an excellent service.
To follow contracts programmes and ensure timely provision of specified equipment and supplies for the Project.
To be able to adapt quickly and efficiently to programme requirements.
To ensure arrangements are in place to transport equipment to sites.
To raise and manage orders.
To expedite scheduled deliveries by liaising with suppliers.
To track on-hire reports and collection of off-hired items.
To monitor and record supplier performance.
To support the Procurement & Logistics function as required.
Report and track breakdowns with Suppliers, expedite to a timely conclusion
Compile data by liaising with suppliers
Co-ordinate planned maintenance between site and suppliers
Liaise with Depots and build relationships to assist with this
Requirements
GCSE’s in Maths and English Grade C or above.
To be organised by nature.
To be able to use own initiative.
To be confident, and have excellent, assured communication skills both verbally and written.
Have the ability to adapt and amend workload priorities in a regularly changing environment.
Excellent IT skills – Microsoft packages including Outlook, Excel, Word.
GCSE in ICT Grade C or above.
Numerical accuracy and good oral communication is very important.
Ambition to commence college studies on a related course
To be a natural team worker, have a positive and friendly attitude, well organised and efficient.
The ability to be self-sufficient with supervision as required.
To be willing to develop good negotiating skills.
