Technical Support Engineer – (EDM) – (Remote)

Salary £29,000 - £38,000 per annum – (Dependent on experience)
Carry out effective Installation, breakdown diagnosis and preventative maintenance on Mitsubishi and Ops Wire Cutting and Die Sinking machines. Taking responsibility for issues and following them through to completion. Have the ability to trace faults to board level and action the appropriate repair, taking responsibility for issues and following them through to completion.
EDM experience is essential. In addition, a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems is required. (Accurate measurement, levelling, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.)
Key Responsibilities:
General and Task Management
• Attend breakdowns throughout the UK, identify faults and problem-solve with minimal downtime to production
• Carry out diagnosis of faults, the maintenance and repairs to all types of control systems in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service
• Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
• Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns
• Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations
• Ensure company targets are met with respect of the quality of parts produced
• Identify spares requirements and log usage
• Carry out PPM schedules.
• Assist with the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment with control systems
• Fill in job reports on completion of work using our CCP System.
• Ensure all personal protective equipment is identified, always available, correctly used and all associated problems are reported to management
• Undertake continuous training and development
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems

• Exercise substantial initiative/judgement in work methods and interpreting goals
• Work independently and is reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
• Operational experience in a control engineering environment applicable to manufacturing systems

Qualifications and Experience Levels:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an EDM Technical Support Engineer
HNC, City & Guilds in electronic biased discipline Established service engineer with EDM Experience
