Café, Shop & Events Manager

£38,000pa - £40,000pa equivalent (£18.27ph to £19.24ph)

10% Staff Discount

Part time, 21 hours / 3 days per week


As a member of the senior management team, the role is focused on leading our growing Café & Events and Supplies & Shop businesses, whilst also supporting wider activities. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing senior team.


Objectives

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience across our café, shop and events businesses.

  • Maintain high standards of food, product, service and presentation.

  • Successfully deliver events across the venue.

  • Market and develop the customer offering.

  • Lead, develop and motivate the team.

  • Lead annual business planning activity, drive revenue and maximise profitability.

  • Support the wider management team.


Café & Events

  • Manage the operations of the Café.

  • Organise, set up and manage five street food events annually with food vendors, bar and music.

  • Organise, set up and manage two major functions, Annual BBQ and the Christmas Gathering.

  • Develop menus, entertainment bookings and activities.

  • Develop suppliers and partners.

  • Ordering, stock control and wastage control.

  • Compliance and excellence with food hygiene, health & safety and licencing regulations.

  • Financial receipts, payments, budgeting and monitoring.

  • Manage the team, rotas, cover, training and recruitment.

  • Work collaboratively and co-ordinate with the grounds & maintenance team.

  • Business planning and development.


Supplies & Shop

The Supplies and Shop business combines supplies, chandlery, provisions and farm produce.

The successful candidate would manage and develop these businesses:

  • Manage the operations to purchase goods and services.

  • Manage the operations of the Shop, serving the general public.

  • Ensure product displays are optimised, attractive, fully stocked and priced.

  • Develop product lines, suppliers and services.

  • Ordering and stock control.

  • Financial receipts, invoicing, payments, budgeting and monitoring.

  • Manage the team, rotas, cover, training and recruitment.

  • Business planning and development.


Administration

  • Supporting the reception.

  • Addressing customer enquiries and co ordinating responses.

  • Email response/enquiries.

  • Invoicing


The Successful Candidate

  • Proven experience as a restaurant, retail or events manager.

  • Track record of success in developing businesses, perhaps previous business owner.

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Happy to role sleeves up and muck in.

  • Comfortable with responsibility, accountability and delivering.

  • Commercially aware.

  • Highly literate and numerate.

  • Good MS Office skills.

  • Full driving licence and access to own transport.
